According to the BU Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship &amp; Commercialization website, the J&amp;J CIAP was designed to \u201cstimulate innovative solutions to unmet clinical challenges emerging from the Boston University medical community\u201d by funding research projects with the greatest potential to impact human health.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Qiu was chosen for this recognition from many talented Boston University practicing clinicians for her research on Alzheimer\u2019s disease. As an awardee of the Clinical Innovation Award Program, she will be recognized at the program\u2019s annual event, invited to serve as clinical advisor to the project team, and will have an opportunity to contribute to breakthrough medical technologies. In addition, she will be supported with an initial development grant of up to $15,000.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology, \u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ppb\/profile\/wendy-wei-qiao-qiu-m-d-ph-d\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Qiu<\/a> is the Principal Investigator in the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ppb\/training-program\/laboratories\/lmpa\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laboratory of Molecular Psychiatry in Aging<\/a> in the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ppb\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Pharmacology &amp; Experimental Therapeutics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations, Dr. Qiu!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Wendy Wei Qiao Qiu was chosen to receive the 2013 Johnson &amp; Johnson Clinical Innovation Award Program (J&amp;J CIAP) award.
