His research, &#8220;Sympathetic Nervous System Regulation of the NCC in Salt Sensitive Hypertension,&#8221; focuses on renal mechanisms of blood pressure control in salt sensitive hypertension. The Porter Physiology Development Fellowship provides Franco a year&#8217;s stipend support for his research.<\/p>\n<p>Franco is a Program in BioMolecular Pharmacology PhD candidate who is doing is dissertation research in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ppb\/training-program\/laboratories\/lcrr\/\"> Laboratory for Cardiovascular-Renal Research <\/a> under the mentorship of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ppb\/people\/faculty\/faculty-profiles\/richard-d-wainford-ph-d-assistant-professor-of-pharmacology-and-medicine-division-of-cardiovascular-medicine\/\">Richard D. Wainford, Ph.D.<\/a>, Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine, Section of Cardiovascular Medicine, and member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/busm-wci\/\">Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute at Boston University.<\/a> Franco joined Dr. Wainford&#8217;s lab in 2017. He was awarded the Caroline tum Suden\/Francis A.
