{"id":76,"date":"2009-08-03T14:35:23","date_gmt":"2009-08-03T18:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/parkinsonsdisease\/center\/research\/inosine\/"},"modified":"2011-02-11T09:37:34","modified_gmt":"2011-02-11T14:37:34","slug":"inosine","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/parkinsonsdisease\/center\/inosine\/","title":{"rendered":"Inosine Research Study in Parkinson\u2019s Disease"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PARKINSON&#8217;S DISEASE DRUG STUDY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We are conducting a multicenter randomized clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Inosine in slowing the progression of Parkinson\u2019s Disease.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have any of the following:<br \/>\n\u2022 Tremors or shaking<br \/>\n\u2022 Slowed movements<br \/>\n\u2022 Small handwriting<br \/>\n\u2022 Stiffness<br \/>\n\u2022 Poor balance or problems walking<br \/>\n<strong>All of these may be symptoms of Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You may qualify for this PD drug study if you:<br \/>\n\u2022 Have a diagnosis of Parkinson\u2019s within the last 3 years or if you are experiencing some of the above symptoms<br \/>\n\u2022 Not on any PD medications other than rasagiline (Azilect) or selegiline (Deprynl)<br \/>\n\u2022 Do not have a history of gout or kidney stones<\/p>\n<p>Eligible participants will receive study-related evaluations, laboratory tests, and the investigational drug at no cost.
