If you are already covered by your parents&#8217; or your spouse&#8217;s health insurance plans, you could be eligible to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/getting-started\/student-health-insurance-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>waive the SHIP <\/strong><\/a>through the MyBU Student Portal. All waivers are reviewed by Student Health Services.<\/p>\n<p>Students who are not covered by a third party&#8217;s health insurance will need to utilize SHIP coverage.<\/p>\n<p>If you plan on keeping the SHIP, and you are looking to borrow credit-based loans to pay for the SHIP, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/osfs\/contact-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">please email your SFS college representative<\/a> to indicate that you plan to keep the SHIP so that cost can be included in your Cost of Attendance for the academic period.<\/p>\n<p>Low-cost options for qualifying students can be obtained through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mahealthconnector.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MassHealth Health Connector<\/a><\/strong>.
