Cadaver Labs – Smith and Nephew,

Journal Club<\/h5>\n

Held the 1st Tuesday of the month (6:15 – 7:15am) led by the faculty.\u00a0 Residents read 3-4 articles and complete the Critical Analysis Literature Review form.<\/p>\n

Bioskills Lab<\/h5>\n

Held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th Tuesdays (6:15 – 7:15am) of the month using the ABOS Modules as well as faculty led labs.<\/p>\n

Bone School<\/h5>\n

Held every Friday (7:30am-10:30am), “bone school” is a protected didactic academic time where attendings from various departments and surrounding teaching hospitals lecture on topics from a two year rotating schedule using the AAOS ROCK<\/a> program. The last hour is dedicated to question \/ answers.<\/p>\n

Research and Academic Conferences<\/h5>\n

Research development is an integral part of clinical training in the program. Dr.’s Duncan, Tornetta, and other faculty members participate in and lead national and international research studies with world renowned surgeons. Residents in the program participate in\u00a0those\u00a0studies. Additionally, residents are required to complete a minimum of one approved written research project by the end of residency training.<\/p>\n

The program encourages residents to\u00a0embrace research as an important tool in advancing the future of orthopaedic surgery.<\/p>\n

Residents showcase their research through oral and\/or poster presentations at local and national meetings as well as\u00a0in the JBJS, JOT, and other orthopaedic publications.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
