Nicoletta is an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian &#038; Avedisian School of Medicine.\u00a0 He is a Board Certified, Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialty training in the field of Sports Medicine.\u00a0\u00a0 He earned his medical degree from Syracuse University and completed his internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Buffalo.\u00a0\u00a0 Following a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at Boston University, he served as the Director of Sports Medicine at The Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, MA and Chief of Sports Medicine at St. Elizabeth\u2019s Medical Center in Boston, MA.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nicoletta has been the Head Team Physician for numerous local high schools, collegiate and professional athletic teams.\u00a0\u00a0 Most recently he served as a team physician at Boston College, and as Head Team Physician for the Boston Cannons Men\u2019s Professional Lacrosse and the Boston Breakers Women\u2019s Professional Soccer.\u00a0\u00a0 He has served as the Head Team Physician for Newbury College, Fisher College, Pine Manor College, Lesley University, and UMass Boston Intercollegiate Athletics.\u00a0 He was recently named to the national List of 65 Outstanding Shoulder Surgeons and Specialists by Becker\u2019s Orthopedic and Spine Review.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nicoletta is dedicated to teaching and education, having been a clinical instructor for Harvard Medical students and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine.\u00a0\u00a0 He has also developed and led an annual Harvard Sports Medicine Symposium bringing together leaders in the field of sports medicine from around the country.\u00a0 He has organized and runs a yearly sports medicine teaching rotation for international medical students and residents from the University of Nottingham in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>His clinical interests include arthroscopic procedures of the knee and shoulder including anatomic and double bundle ACL reconstruction, cartilage injuries in the knee, shoulder rotator cuff injuries and instability, and injuries in the overhead athlete.\u00a0 He sees and treats athletes and athletic related injuries in patients of all ages and activity levels.\u00a0 He is seeing patients at both the Boston Medical Center Campus at the Shapiro Center, 725 Albany St and at the Ryan Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at Boston University, 915 Commonwealth Avenue.
