Depending on the type of research you conduct, there are several levels of required training.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ohra\/required-training\/human-subjects-protection-training\/\"><strong>Human Subjects Protection training<\/strong><\/a> &#8211;\u00a0Required for all individuals involved in human subject research studies (exempt and non-exempt) who have contact with subjects or their identifiable data. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ohra\/required-training\/good-clinical-practice-gcp-certification\/\">Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; <\/strong><\/strong>Required for all individuals involved in the conduct of clinical trials.<strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/crro\/training-education\/sponsor-investigator-training\/\">Sponsor-Investigator training<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Required for Principal Investigators who are also taking on the role of Sponsor for an FDA-regulated drug or device study. A sponsor holds the IND or IDE.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/ohra\/required-training\/institutional-standard-operating-procedures-sops\/\">Institutional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) training<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Required for all individuals involved in clinical research studies that target BMC patients, use BMC patient data, or utilize BMC facilities and\/or services.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are many more educational opportunities in human research. \u00a0Please <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/crro\/training-education\/\">click here<\/a> for more information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For investigators on research projects funded by a Public Health Service agency, Conflict of Interest training is also required.
