Education<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Every Wednesday from 730-1130 AM, residents have protected time from clinical duties to attend Grand Rounds followed by didactics and\/or simulation learning.<\/p>\n

Grand Rounds<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Grand Rounds is a weekly one-hour lecture series on Wednesday mornings from 730-830AM. The series comprises lectures given by guest speakers, Chief Resident Grand Rounds, OB\/GYN M&M, our Summer Advocacy Series, and Quality Improvement.\u00a0 These are attended by all faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, nurses, and administrators within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.<\/p>\n

Resident Didactics<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The resident didactics takes place every Wednesday morning from 830-1130AM and covers a broad range of learning objectives and competencies necessary to achieve proficiency in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to this protected time, there are several weekly educational sessions specific to each service.<\/p>\n

      \u00a0<\/strong>Clinical Simulation Curriculum<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

      Our simulation curriculum aims to provide our residents with hands on learning opportunities to help prepare them for a variety of clinical settings, procedures, and emergency situations. We have access to the Solomont Center for Medical Simulation and Nursing Education for our educational programs.\u00a0 The sim center has procedural models, laparoscopic training simulators, classrooms and completely functional simulated patient care and operating rooms, to assess and teach all aspects of patient care.<\/p>\n

              Evaluation and Feedback<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

              The residents actively participate in the structure and content of the didactics program. It is modified annually based on resident evaluation and feedback of the program.\u00a0 Additionally, the residents elect a PGY4 to serve as Education Chief each academic year.\u00a0\u00a0 This chief works in partnership with the residency administrative team on curriculum development and advancing the educational objectives of the program.<\/p>\n
