Rotation Objectives<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Understand Addiction as a disease<\/li>\n
  2. Understand Methadone: history, uses, pharmacology<\/li>\n
  3. Understand Buprenorphine: history, uses, pharmacology<\/li>\n
  4. Participate in managing pregnant women in acute drug withdrawal<\/li>\n
  5. Understand complexities of caring for pregnant women in recovery<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Rotation Requirements<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Attend Project RESPECT clinic on Tuesdays mornings with Dr. Michelle Sia<\/strong>:\u00a0 participate in Tuesday 8am<\/strong>staff case conference (review of scheduled patients)<\/li>\n
    2. Attend Project RESPECT clinic on Friday morning with Dr. Kelley Saia<\/strong> : participate in Friday 8am<\/strong> staff case conference (review of scheduled patients)<\/li>\n
    3. Attend Project RESPECT clinic on Friday afternoon with Dr. Michelle O\u2019Brien<\/strong><\/li>\n
    4. Pre-clinic chart reviews<\/strong>: Prepare scheduled patients logician charts for staff case conference [logician schedule, view appointments, view details]<\/li>\n
    5. Participate on Labor and Delivery on Wednesday mornings<\/strong>: 7am rounds in 3West\/L&D conference room<\/li>\n
    6. Attend one morning session at Frontage Road Methadone Clinic with Dr. Chapman or Dr. Walley<\/strong><\/li>\n
    7. Attend one morning of intake and counseling with the BMC\u2019s Office-Based Opioid Treatment program<\/strong>(OBOT Team 3)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
    8. Presentation<\/strong>: \u00a045min talk at MFM conference on a Thursday during rotation<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
    9. Design or Participate in research project with Dr.s Saia, Sia, O\u2019Brien<\/strong> : Honors criteria: completion of outlined project for the month rotation (i.e IRB proposal, draft of article, draft of project proposal, grant proposal, ect); evaluations from clinical work<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
    10. Mondays and Thursdays for research<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Conferences<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

      MFM Conference:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

      <\/strong>Thursdays<\/strong> at noon in 3West\/ L&D conference room. <\/strong>Topics announced each week by MFM resident. \u00a0Bring lunch. \u00a0Forum for 4th<\/sup> year student presentation<\/p>\n

      Fetal Board Conference<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n
