The Adult Neurology Residency Program at Boston University Medical Center is a four-year <strong>categorical<\/strong> program in neurology (NRMP# 1257180C0) that includes a preliminary (PGY-1) year of internal medicine training. This preliminary year is supervised by both the internal medicine and neurology program directors. Seven positions are offered in each of the four (4)\u00a0 years of the adult neurology residency program. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Applications should be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) of the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). A link to the ERAS system can be found on the NRMP website:<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrmp.org\/\" style=\"text-decoration: none; color: #802040; font-weight: bold;\">www.nrmp.org<\/a>. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">We prefer that candidates submit their applications as early as possible to expedite scheduling of interviews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Applications are reviewed early in the fall after the following documentation is received:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Completed ERAS Application Form<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Curriculum Vitae<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Personal Statement<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dean\u2019s Letter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">USMLE Transcripts: w<span>e perform a holistic review of applicants.\u00a0<\/span>Please note that the majority of our\u00a0residents score above the national USMLE averages.<span> All applicants\u00a0<\/span>must submit Step 1 and Step 2 scores.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Medical School Transcript<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ECFMG Certificate (only international medical graduates).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Interviews, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October through January, are by invitation only. Consistent with recommendations from the AAMC and the ACGME, we shall conduct interviews virtually for all applicants. Our completed application deadline is November 30<sup>th<\/sup>. There are a limited number of interview slots, so we recommend submitting your application materials as early as possible. We will be using the Thalamus scheduling software to arrange interviews. Interview invitations will come via email from Thalamus with instructions for creating an account. Once invitees create accounts, they will be able to go into our system and select the interview date. Please be sure to add no-reply@thalamusgme.com to your safe senders list to ensure you receive all notifications from our program regarding invitations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For foreign medical graduates, the J1 Visa is preferred.\u00a0In limited circumstances, BMC will provide H-1B sponsorship for clinical training.
