A Boston native, Aileen joined BMC\u2019s Nephrology Fellowship family in 2019. She was attracted to many features of the program, including the \u201csubspecialty clinics (lupus, amyloid, transplant), expertise in subspecialty fields (GN, PKD, etc.) within the BMC nephrology section, the patient population, and BMC&#8217;s focus on social determinants of health.\u201d Finding medicine intellectually stimulating and patient interactions rewarding, Aileen was naturally drawn to the medical field. Within Nephrology, Aileen greatly appreciates the wide range of pathology and severity of illness within the field, and it has been exciting for her to witness \u201call the new practice-changing research in nephrology in recent years.\u201d Since joining the Nephrology Fellowship Program at BMC, Aileen\u2019s favorite aspects to experience have been \u201cthe supportiveness from co-fellows, attendings, and staff, and the challenges of taking care of medically and socially complex patients.\u201d Outside of work, Aileen enjoys hiking, running, traveling, skiing, and checking out new restaurants and breweries in Boston.
