C.L.U.E- Clinical Learning Using MystEry Card Games <\/strong><\/p>\n

Traditional case discussions often rely on passive participation, limiting opportunities for learners to actively develop clinical reasoning skills. Gamification has been shown to improve clinical reasoning test performance, diagnostic accuracy, learner engagement, teamwork, and decision making under uncertainty compared with traditional approaches. Card-based games are intentionally low-technology by design, encouraging peer-to-peer social interaction.<\/p>\n

In this session, Deepthi Gunasekaran MD will share how they developed C.L.U.E, which is inspired by the popular murder mystery party game and grounded in cooperative learning theory. Using a sample C.L.U.E game, participants in this interactive workshop will experience the activity as a learner. Participants will then examine the mechanisms underlying gamification as an effective pedagogical strategy and will be introduced to a structured framework for designing low-tech educational games. Participants will work in groups to create and facilitate similar activities tailored to their teaching topics.<\/p>\n
