{"id":6467,"date":"2012-02-29T18:37:25","date_gmt":"2012-02-29T23:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/medicine\/?page_id=6467"},"modified":"2019-09-05T15:17:52","modified_gmt":"2019-09-05T19:17:52","slug":"remoteaccess","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/medicine\/dom-resources\/technology\/remoteaccess\/","title":{"rendered":"Working Remotely"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Medicine central systems are available to all users remotely.\u00a0 For security reasons, users must make use of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) offerings of either Boston University or Boston Medical Center.\u00a0 A VPN creates a secure encrypted tunnel over the Internet between your computer and the campus network.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BU employees, students, researchers, and faculty should use the BUMC VPN.\u00a0 Instructions can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/bumc-oit\/network\/vpn\/\">BUMC OIT web site<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>BMC employees, including administrative staff and clinicians should use the BMC VPN.\u00a0 Users can obtain access to the BMC VPN by contacting the BMC ITS HelpDesk at 617-414-4500 or <a href=\"http:\/\/servicedesk.bmc.bmcroot.bmc.org\/caisd\/help_newticket.aspx\">opening a ticket online<\/a> (requires BMC credentials).\u00a0 You will need to be issued a SecurID token.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please contact <a href=\"mailto:dom-itshelp@bmc.org\">dom-itshelp@bmc.org<\/a> if you have trouble obtaining VPN access.\u00a0 Contractors, post-doctoral fellows, and other non-employees please contact <a href=\"mailto:dom-itshelp@bmc.org\">dom-itshelp@bmc.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Once VPN access is established, please proceed to <a title=\"Accessing DOM Central Computing Resources\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/medicine\/dom-resources\/technology\/serveraccess\/\">instructions<\/a> on accessing the various DOM central resources (requires VPN to view if off-campus).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Medicine central systems are available to all users remotely.\u00a0 For security reasons, users must make use of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) offerings of either Boston University or Boston Medical Center.\u00a0 A VPN creates a secure encrypted tunnel over the Internet between your computer and the campus network.
