{"id":124,"date":"2019-08-30T14:57:33","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T18:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/mdphd\/?page_id=124"},"modified":"2023-02-16T09:56:20","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T14:56:20","slug":"conference-support-and-funding-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/mdphd\/current-students\/student-resources\/conference-support-and-funding-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Conference Support and Funding Opportunities<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>MD\/PhD Students have the option of attending\u00a0conferences targeted specifically for students in MSTP and MD\/PhD Combined Degree Programs.<\/p>\n<p>These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>APSA<\/strong> (April)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keystone MD\/PhD Student Conference<\/strong> (July)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please contact the MD\/ PhD\u00a0Program for additional information.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Additional Conference Support Opportunities<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>PhD and MD\/PhD students in the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences are eligible to apply for Division of Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) <strong>Travel Awards<\/strong>.\u00a0 These awards are made to help financially support graduate students who are giving a presentation or presenting a poster at a scientific meeting.<\/p>\n<p>GMS\u00a0Travel Award Applications\u00a0should be submitted <em>at least 4 weeks prior to departure<\/em> to <a href=\"mailto:jamaz@bu.edu\"><span>James Mazarakis<\/span><\/a>. Associate Provost James McKnight will then review requests. Acceptance of a GMS Travel Award is contingent upon agreeing to and submitting a 2-3 paragraph summary of your participation at this meeting to be published on the GMS website and\/or GMS newsletter.
