We are most proud of the graduates of our lab, including pulmonary MD fellows and post-doctoral PhD fellows who have gone on to academic faculty positions and our student PhD graduates who have gone on to successful post-doctoral fellowships. Truth, scholarship, rigor, curiosity, and ‘Open Source Biology’ sharing continue to be the underpinnings of our training style.

The Kotton Laboratory considers applications from highly motivated individuals, who have a love for science and stem cell research.

Post-doctoral fellowship: Kotton laboratory:

We consider outstanding candidates from time to time for postdoctoral fellowship positions in Darrell Kotton’s laboratory at the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CReM) of Boston University and Boston Medical Center, particularly those who might qualify for our NIH TL1 Grant, the “Regenerative Medicine Training Program”, or our NIH T32 Training Grant: “Biology of the Lung.” We especially consider recent PhD candidates with research interests in human ESC/iPSC differentiation and modeling of cell fate. Candidates enthusiastic about understanding the epigenetic regulation of these processes with a focus on lung epithelial development are particularly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates would work in a tight-knit research group with scientists at various training levels focusing on diverse projects related to stem cell and developmental biology.

The CReM at BU/BMC (www.bumc.bu.edu/stemcells) is a dynamic, welcoming, and interactive working environment that emphasizes collaboration, open resource sharing, and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds and from groups under-represented in the research workforce. Our center is a unique, physically contiguous research space that brings together researchers from across disciplines with a common goal of understanding stem cell and regenerative biology. We pride ourselves on our encouraging yet rigorous training environment with a focus on mentorship of early stage researchers towards independence.

Those interested in applying should forward contact details and a current CV to Darrell Kotton: dkotton at bu.edu

The BU CReM website also has a ‘Positions Available’ site, visited by clicking here.

The Kotton Lab continually strives to ensure our laboratory remains a vibrant, fun, and rigorous environment where trainees from across the world come for mentorship and the pursuit of new knowledge.
