Sun Java 6.0.24<\/h2>\n

As announced in a notification from IBM<\/a>, Host On-Demand is not supported by Java 6, update 24 and will not work after the computer has been upgraded. If you have upgraded to the most recent version of Java, we recommend downgrading to update 23:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Uninstall Java from your computer<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Download update 23 from Oracle\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Install Java 6.0.23<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Sun Java 6.0.21<\/h2>\n

    When using Java 6 update 21, you will receive a security notification when trying to connect with Host On-Demand.<\/p>\n

    \"hod_error\"<\/p>\n

    To remove this warning, named HODAPPlet:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Open your\u00a0Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. Click on the\u00a0Java<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n
    3. Select the\u00a0Advanced<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
    4. Choose\u00a0Security<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. For \u201cMixed code (sandboxed vs trusted) security verification,\u201d choose\u00a0Hide warning and run with protections<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Sun Java 6.0.15, 6.0.16, and 6.0.17<\/h2>\n

      If you are using either Sun Java 6.0 update 15, 16, or 17, Host On-Demand\u00a0will not install or start<\/strong> in any browser.<\/p>\n

      As a work around,<\/strong> the next-generation plug-in can be disabled in the Java control panel.<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Open the\u00a0Java control panel<\/strong> (Start\/Control Panel\/Java).<\/li>\n
      2. Select the\u00a0Advanced<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
      3. Select\u00a0Java plug-in.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      4. Uncheck\u00a0Enable the next-generation Java plug-in.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      5. Click OK.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      6. A confirmation dialog box will appear. Click\u00a0OK.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      7. Restart HOD.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Internet Explorer 8<\/h2>\n

        If you are using IE 8, Host On-Demand\u00a0may not install or start,<\/strong> depending on the version of Sun Java that is installed.<\/p>\n

        As a workaround,<\/strong> revert back to\u00a0Sun Java 6.0.14<\/a>.<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Uninstall<\/strong> Java 6.0.15 (or any more recent version, if installed)<\/li>\n
        2. Download Java 6.0.14<\/a>.<\/li>\n
        3. Double-click on the 6.0.14 file to install.<\/li>\n
        4. Re-install Host On-Demand<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
