It allows BUMC IT to push software installs on BU owned computers.<\/div>\n<p>As of 8\/10\/2020, the following software items are available to install or upgrade to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows 10<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office 2019 64bit<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office 2016 64bit<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office 2016 32bit<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Teams<\/li>\n<li>Zoom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please follow the instructions below to access KACE.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open a web browser and navigate to <a href=\"https:\/\/kace-bumc.bu.edu\">kace-bumc.bu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Enter your BU Username (do not include @bu.edu) and Kerberos Password, and set \u201cBUMC\u201d as the organization.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace1-636x221.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"537\" height=\"187\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9957\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace1-636x221.png 636w, https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace1-768x267.png 768w, https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace1.png 791w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cLogin\u201d or press enter.<\/li>\n<li>On the left hand side of the screen, select \u201cDownloads\u201d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"195\" height=\"139\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9958\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Once on the Downloads page, you will see a list of installations.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace3-636x270.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"433\" height=\"184\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9959\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace3-636x270.png 636w, https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/files\/2019\/07\/kace3.png 668w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 433px) 100vw, 433px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\u2193\u2193 Continue to instructions for your desired installation below \u2193\u2193<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Windows 7 to Windows 10 Upgrade<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"info notice\"><strong><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/strong> Windows 10 Upgrade requires at least 20-30GB of data to install.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This upgrade <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">will not delete<\/span><\/strong> your applications and files.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Once on the Downloads page, select \u201cWindows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade x64\u201d.<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/win10-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/win10-1-636x270.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"212\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9978\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Once on the \u201cDownloads: Info and Download\u201d page, scroll down and verify that the computer listed under \u201cDevice to Install software on\u201d matches your computer Asset Tag #.\u00a0 Asset Tag #\u2019s are located on an orange sticker, usually underneath or on the side of your computer.<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/win10-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/win10-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"345\" height=\"176\" class=\"wp-image-9980 alignnone\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Once you are ready to run the upgrade, select the \u201cRun Now\u201d button which will begin the download process.<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/win10-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/win10-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"464\" height=\"141\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9979\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Windows will begin to silently download the required installation files in the background. Depending on the speed of your computer, it typically takes around 10-20 minutes before Windows has downloaded the required files and is ready to install Windows 10.\u00a0 When Windows 10 is ready to install, you will see the message below. Once it is determined that your computer is fully compatible to upgrade to Windows 10, the installation process will begin. During this process, your computer will reboot several times.\u00a0 This process takes some time, and the computer cannot be used while it runs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/kace2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/it\/files\/2019\/08\/kace2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"562\" height=\"228\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10004\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>8. Once the installation has finished, your computer will boot to a Windows 10 login screen (as shown below).
