The conversion of telephones to BUMC service has been completed for all BU locations (See chart below). At this time, all lines in converted buildings, including fax and wall phones, should be assigned 353-XXXX or 358-XXXX telephone numbers.<\/p>\n

If you do not have a new BU telephone number to replace your Avaya phone, please contact ipphone@bu.edu\u00a0 <\/a>immediately<\/em><\/strong> to avoid interruption in your telephone service.<\/p>\n

Directory Update: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Please make sure you have followed the steps to update the BU Directory with your correct telephone and fax number. Instructions can be found at this link: Instructions to Change your Office Number<\/a><\/p>\n

This will also update your number for the BU automated attendant which can be accessed by dialing 3-2000 from you BU phone, or 617-353-2000 from off-campus.<\/p>\n

Dialing from your BU telephone:<\/u><\/strong>
\n\u2022 To call another BU telephone (i.e. numbers starting with 617-352, 617-353 or 617-358):
\nDial the 5 digit telephone number
\n\u2022 To call a BMC telephone (i.e numbers starting with 617-414 or 617-638):
\nDial 10 digit telephone number
\n\u2022 To Place an outside call:
\nDial 1+10 digit telephone number<\/p>\n

If you are calling from a BMC telephone to a BU telephone<\/u><\/strong>
\nDial 9+ 10 digit telephone number<\/p>\n

The following numbers for Public Safety and Emergency services can be dialed using 5 digits from either system (BMC Avaya or BUMC Cisco):<\/u><\/strong>
