{"id":7705,"date":"2016-02-02T18:17:01","date_gmt":"2016-02-02T23:17:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/?page_id=7705"},"modified":"2016-03-13T22:24:21","modified_gmt":"2016-03-14T02:24:21","slug":"vpn-upgrade-notes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/it\/support\/network\/remote\/vpn\/vpn-upgrade-notes\/","title":{"rendered":"VPN Upgrade Notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">VPN Network Maintenance \u2013 March 13, 2016 \u2013 12AM &#8211; 4AM:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>VPN UPDATE:\u00a0 We have received one report from a client that &#8220;work2.bumc.bu.edu&#8221; did not work for them as originally stated below.\u00a0 However, they were able to log on by typing &#8220;vpn.bumc.bu.edu&#8221; in the AnyConnect client dialog box.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>On March 13, Network Services Group will be upgrading the VPN servers at the BUMC.\u00a0\u00a0 This upgrade will allow our group to continue supporting and providing VPN service to the BUMC community.\u00a0\u00a0 Between the hours of 12AM to 4AM, connections to the VPN (work2.bumc.bu.edu) may be unreachable.\u00a0\u00a0 Once this work has been completed, you may notice some changes to the naming convention of the VPN service.\u00a0\u00a0 To better streamline with the CRC VPN, we will be introducing &#8220;vpn.bumc.bu.edu&#8221; as an option to connecting to &#8220;work2.bumc.bu.edu&#8221;.\u00a0 Please note: &#8220;work2.bumc.bu.edu&#8221; WILL continue to function even after this upgrade has been completed.
