BUMC IT does not sell cables but cables are available from most computer stores.<\/p>\n<h3>DNS Values<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s likely that your computer will discover BU\u2019s Ethernet settings automatically once you are connected.<\/p>\n<p>However, sometimes people do need to enter them manually, in which case<strong> BU\u2019s DNS values are<\/strong>:\u00a0<strong><br \/>\n155.41.254.250<br \/>\n<strong>155.41.254.251<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"narrow\"><\/a>If possible, narrow down the problem to your computer vs. your connection.<\/h3>\n<p>If at all possible, try to narrow down the problem by (a) testing your computer with a different network jack or connection to see if the problem still exists or (b) testing another computer with your connection jack and\/or cable. Information from that testing will determine how best to troubleshoot.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"autodetect\"><\/a>Renew your IP address.<\/h3>\n<p>Computers get their identification and access to the network using the address that is assigned to them. But this assignment can get stale or become misconfigured. A common fix is to release\/renew your computers IP address:<\/p>\n<div><b><span>Step 1<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<span>Press\u00a0<\/span><b><span>windows\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span>key and\u00a0<\/span><b><span>X\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span>key at the same time.
