This was the first paper to show that non-invasive positive pressure ventilation had a morbidity and mortality benefit in patients with severe COPD exacerbations.<\/p>\n<p>And here is a link to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldcopd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">GOLD<\/a> (Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease), which is the body that released the criteria for COPD severity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s morning report was about the use of BiPap in COP exacerbations.
