The hospital is the primary teaching affiliate for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/busm\/\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Boston University School of Medicine trauma\u00a0and\u00a0emergency services center in New England, more than half of our patients come from underserved populations, such as the low-income and elderly, who rely on government payers such as Medicaid, the Health Safety Net, and Medicare for their coverage. 32 percent of our patients do not speak English as a primary language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Through its
