This year\u2019s Plain Language for Health (PL4H) focuses on plain language writing for community engagement. The program features experts in health literacy and plain language, interactive learning, discussion and exercises on how to apply principles of health literacy and plain language in health research and practices.\u00a0 It is an opportunity for health communicators, research teams, and community members to consider key information in informed consent and how to communicate complex concepts unique to clinical research. Health Literacy Data Map Website<\/a><\/h3>\n

This website provides an interactive, searchable, national map of health literacy estimated for 216,864 census block groups in the United States. \u00a0This map will help identify geographic areas that may be most affected by limited health literacy and are in the greatest need of health care services and improvements. \u00a0The literacy estimates may also be used to study health literacy on a larger scale than previously possibly with assessments administered in person. \u00a0The data can be downloaded. \u00a0This site was developed as a public resource and supported by\u00a0a grant from the National Institute on Aging\/NIH under award number R01AG046267, Principal Investigators Stacy C.
