If you plan on using Federal Direct Unsubsidized and\/or Federal Graduate PLUS Loan funds during the 2022-2023 academic year (July 1, 2022 \u2013 June 30, 2023), you will need to complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA. While the priority deadline was February 1, 2022, we will continue to accept applications throughout the academic year.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><span><b>GMS students must also complete the online\u00a0<\/b><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/osfs\/2022-2023-graduate-medical-sciences-financial-aid-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\"><span><b>SFS Financial Aid Application<\/b><\/span><\/a><span><b>.<\/b><\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong><b><span>Federal Student Loan Exit Counseling for Graduating Students\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span>Graduating Federal Direct\u202fLoan\u202fborrowers must complete\u202fthe Federal Student Loan Exit\u202fCounseling. This can be done electronically at\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\"><span>StudentAid.gov<\/span><\/a><span>.\u202fIf you have questions following your online\u202fExit\u202fCounseling, you can schedule an individual appointment with SFS.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Summer Enrollment &amp; Aid Application Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Looking to borrow loans during the summer semesters? If you are enrolled in at least 6 credits for summer 1 and\/or summer 2 or certified full-time and you wish to apply for federal loans, make sure you\u2019ve submitted the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">2022-23 FAFSA<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/osfs\/summerapplication\/\">Summer Direct Loan application.<\/a> If you need additional funds, you can submit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/osfs\/files\/2022\/03\/SS22-Grad-PLUS-Form.pdf\">Summer Graduate PLUS Application<\/a>. Otherwise, private <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/osfs\/resources\/types-of-aid\/loans\/creditbasedloans\/\">credit-based student loans<\/a> are also available.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>SNAP Benefit Eligibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Due to a change in federal law, some graduate college students not previously eligible may now be able to receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits. More information about this benefit change and how college students may be temporarily eligible for SNAP is\u202f<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fns.usda.gov\/snap\/students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"textrun\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #0070c0;\">available\u202fhere.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"> In some instances, you may be asked to have your financial aid office provide additional documentation, such as the Educational Income and Expense form. The student loan relief, which began in March 2020, includes temporary 0% interest rates, reprieve on loan payments, and paused collection of defaulted federal student loans.
