They are seeking highly qualified candidates who are U.S. citizens and hold, or anticipate earning, a doctorate in a variety of fields of science or engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Application deadline dates (4 annual review cycles &#8211; <\/b><em>i<\/em><em>f a deadline falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the deadline is moved to the next business day<\/em><b>): <\/b><\/span><span>February 1 | <\/span><span>May 1 | <\/span><span>August 1 | <\/span><span>November 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Fellows<\/strong> have the opportunity to c<span>onduct independent research in an area compatible with the interests of the Air Force laboratories, d<\/span><span>evote full-time effort to research and publication, a<\/span><span>ccess the excellent and often unique Air Force research facilities, and c<\/span><span>ollaborate with leading scientists and engineers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Award benefits<\/b> include base stipend starting at $95,000\/year (may be higher based on experience), health insurance (including dental and vision), relocation assistance for Research Fellows who will be on tenure for at least six months and who at the time of award reside more than 50 miles from the host laboratory, and professional travel allowance.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine has opened a call for a prestigious postdoctoral and senior research awards, the <strong>NRC Research Associateship Program (RAP)<\/strong>. The RAP are prestigious postdoctoral and senior research awards designed to provide promising scientists and engineers with high-quality research opportunities at federal laboratories and affiliated institutions.
