Credential-Enhancing Pre-Dental Masters Program:<\/strong> <\/span>Provides students with the opportunity to build academic credentials for dental school admission<\/p>\n Housed at Boston University\u2019s School of Medicine\u2019s Graduate Medical Sciences:<\/strong> <\/span>The BU Medical Campus is home to the Graduate School, the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, and School of Public Health, the Boston Medical Center and the Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Our campus provides a diverse environment for both academic and professional growth for pre-dental students.<\/p>\n Boston:<\/strong> <\/span>Known as a city of Meds and Eds, the Oral Health Sciences program is located in the vibrant city of Boston, rich in history, art, sports, medicine and education.<\/p>\n Rigorous, graduate-level curriculum<\/strong>:<\/span> Students complete a \u00a0demanding 32 credit curriculum with 18 cr of dental school classes taken side-by-side BU\u2019s first year dental students.<\/p>\n Improve Academic Preparedness for Dental School Admission<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span> Develop time management, study and test taking skills as well as the ability to network, critically think and multi-task.<\/p>\n Strong Advising, Career Mentoring and AADSAS Application Assistanc<\/strong>e<\/span>: Personalized advising, professional development and dental school application support.<\/p>\n Strong Community:<\/strong> <\/span>Students build a strong community with fellow students, near-peers and faculty and gain excellent exposure to the rigors of life as a dental student.<\/p>\n Stresses Academics, Professional Development and Critical Thinking:<\/strong> <\/span>Through academic and professional enrichment events, students are supported at all steps towards program completion and dental school admission.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Through DMD and graduate level coursework, students improve their study and test taking skills as well as their ability to not just memorize facts but integrate concepts at a much higher level.\u00a0 Students have the opportunity to take three of the four courses \u2013 Biochemistry, Physiology , Microbiology and Immunology and\/or General Pathology \u00a0with BU DMD I students.\u00a0 Additionally students are exposed to Oral Health Promotion, Evidence Based Dentistry, Head and Neck Anatomy, and Infectious Diseases\u00a0through elective coursework.<\/p>\n The M.S. program is a one-year, 12 month program.\u00a0 All students enter the program with the intention of completing the MS degree in 1 year.\u00a0 The program however, is flexible offering a research \u2013based thesis option for those interested in extending their time in the program. Faculty from both the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine<\/a> and Henry Goldman School of Dental Medicine<\/a>\u00a0serve as teachers and mentors enriching their educational experience while in GMS.<\/p>\n Lastly, Boston is a great place to study. Boston University Medical Campus is located in Boston\u2019s historic and multicultural South End. Boston, our \u201cwalkable\u201d city, is known for great science, academics, sports, the arts as well as music, restaurants and nightlife.
