We strive to train professionals in a diverse number of career pathways as they move towards their personal career goals. Check out your individual program link below or your Program website in addition to what we offer here centrally through GMS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Doctoral Candidates<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Doctoral candidates have opportunities to train in both theoretical and practical training for future careers in various scientific sectors. \u00a0The activities include seminars, panels and workshops.\u00a0 The programming continues to develop and change over time as we learn of trainees&#8217;\u00a0interests and needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>We strive to meet the diverse needs of our trainees by enhancing their skills in:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">critical thinking<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">communication<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">leadership\/ management<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">bioethics\/intellectual property\/research compliance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>to assure that our PhDs, MD\/PhDs,\u00a0 and post-doctoral fellows are prepared for successful careers in academia, industry, local or federal government or where ever they may choose to work after BU.<\/p>\n<p>Most PhD programs have integrated professional development courses \/ curriculum woven into their programs.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Charles River Campus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pdpa\/for-doctoral-students\/phdpd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PDPA provides professional development skills,<\/a> through their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pdpa\/for-doctoral-students\/phd-progression\/phd-core-capacities\/\">Core Capacitie<\/a>s programming, These are learned through their\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pdpa\/for-doctoral-students\/phd-progression\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>PhD Progression<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 online micro-credentialing platform that allows students to explore, build the recommended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pdpa\/for-doctoral-students\/phd-progression\/phd-core-capacities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PhD Core Capacities<\/a>.
