The latter is funded in part by a $124 million grant from NIH, which is the largest single grant ever given by NIH to a medical center.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Responsible Conduct of Research Training (RCR)<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"page-title\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Programs are available below.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/ethics-compliance\/responsible-conduct-of-research\/training-programs\/rcr-for-masters-degree-candidates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Undergraduates and master\u2019s<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>candidates must complete RCR-specific CITI training (an online course).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/research\/ethics-compliance\/responsible-conduct-of-research\/training-programs\/rcr-for-doctoral-or-postdoctoral-researchers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>need to first complete RCR-specific CITI training (an online course) before enrolling in<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>the 1 credit RCR course (ENG EK 800), within two (2) years of requirement notification.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Charles River Campus Centers<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>MD\/PhD\u00a0students\u00a0can join the Department of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/bme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biomedical Engineering<\/a> or one of the many laboratories throughout the campus that are run by a faculty with a joint appointment at the medical center. Opportunities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Research in nanotechnology or chemical drug screening through the <a href=\"http:\/\/cmld.bu.edu\/center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chemical Methods Library Design<\/a> (CMLD) center, a NIH roadmap facility that couples combinatorial chemistry and pharmaceutical research.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities in application of photonics research to biomedicine at the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Photonics Center<\/a>,\u00a0such as work using lasers to detect incipient Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Faculty Research Interests<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Our faculty and students are involved in a wide variety of research projects.
