Boston University participates in the <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/finaid\/types-of-aid\/loans\/student-loans\/stafford\/\">Federal Direct Stafford<\/a><\/span>, the <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/finaid\/types-of-aid\/loans\/student-loans\/perkins\/\">Federal Perkins Loans<\/a><\/span>, and the Ford Loan Program. Graduate students receive their direct loans through these programs, which has the same loan limits, interest rates, and fees as the Federal Stafford Loan Program. Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loans and Work-study Programs are also available. My name is Mohamed, and I\u2019m in my second year of the Master\u2019s in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine. I\u2019m from Toronto, Canada (go Raptors!) and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. In my free time, I love to chef it up in the kitchen, go to the gym, watch and play sports (basketball, football, you name it) and I also love to go on adventures and find new things to do around Boston!<\/div>\n<h4>Meet Nia:<\/h4>\n<p><span>I am a second-year student in Boston University\u2019s Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program. Originally from Memphis, TN, I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 2021. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked as the full-time lab manager at Rice University in Houston, TX, supporting bereaved spouses and caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer\u2019s or related dementias. I am from Indianapolis, Indiana and completed my undergraduate education at Georgetown University in 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology. During my gap year, I worked as the lab manager of the Happy Tech Lab\u2013 a social\u00a0psychology research lab studying how phones and social media impact well-being. While I intend to stay involved in research, I have always known that I want to help people more directly in a clinical setting. My name is Dolce, and I\u2019m a first-year student in Boston University\u2019s Mental Health Counseling &amp; Behavioral Medicine program. I\u2019m originally from Sonoma County, California, and attended Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan for high school while pursuing a career as a ballerina.<\/span><span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Before beginning my journey towards clinical work, I danced professionally, an experience that shaped my interest in how identity, injury, and performance intersect with mental health. After retiring from ballet, I earned my B.A. in Psychology at UCLA, where I worked at the Semel Institute studying behavioral interventions for children with autism and served as a public speaker with NAMI Westside LA, expanding mental health awareness among local high school students. I was born and raised in Miami, FL, and I recently graduated from the University of Michigan, where I earned my B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Go BLUE!!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve always been passionate about connecting with people and supporting their wellbeing. I am deeply committed to the Special Olympics organization and to advocating for mental health in communities where it is often overlooked. I\u2019m especially interested in the intersection of sports and mental health, as well as working with children and young adults navigating key transitional periods in their lives.
