Tuition & Financial Aid<\/h4>\n

Every year, Dean scholarships are awarded to selected Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine students.\u00a0 These scholarships typically provide approximately $10,000 of aid per year.\u00a0 Students are encouraged to apply early to the program to have the best chance of receiving a Dean scholarship.<\/p>\n

Applicants may also want to learn more about tuition and financial aid for GMS programs<\/a><\/span>. Boston University participates in the Federal Direct Stafford<\/a><\/span>, the Federal Perkins Loans<\/a><\/span>, and the Ford Loan Program. Graduate students receive their direct loans through these programs, which has the same loan limits, interest rates, and fees as the Federal Stafford Loan Program. Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loans and Work-study Programs are also available. Learn more about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Meet Mohamed:<\/h4>\n
Hello! My name is Mohamed, and I\u2019m in my second year of the Master\u2019s in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine. I\u2019m from Toronto, Canada (go Raptors!) and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. I\u2019ve always been passionate about clinical psychology and psychotherapy, and the MHCBM program\u2019s unique clinical focus and the opportunities it provides truly fit what I wanted to learn in a mental health counseling graduate program and my professional career after graduation!\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Currently, I serve on the MHCBM Student Representative Committee, planning initiatives within the community and organizing exciting events for fellow peers throughout the year. In my free time, I love to chef it up in the kitchen, go to the gym, watch and play sports (basketball, football, you name it) and I also love to go on adventures and find new things to do around Boston!<\/div>\n

Meet Nia:<\/h4>\n

I am a second-year student in Boston University\u2019s Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program. Originally from Memphis, TN, I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 2021. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked as the full-time lab manager at Rice University in Houston, TX, supporting bereaved spouses and caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer\u2019s or related dementias. In August 2024, I moved to Boston to begin my graduate journey and have truly enjoyed my experience so far! <\/span><\/p>\n

I currently serve as a member of the Student Representative Committee and am excited to have completed my practicum at UMass Memorial Child Psychiatry Access Program (MCPAP) in the summer of 2025. I am a first-year student in the Master\u2019s in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine program at Boston University. I am from Indianapolis, Indiana and completed my undergraduate education at Georgetown University in 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology. During my gap year, I worked as the lab manager of the Happy Tech Lab\u2013 a social\u00a0psychology research lab studying how phones and social media impact well-being. While I intend to stay involved in research, I have always known that I want to help people more directly in a clinical setting. The MHCBM\u00a0program has been a great\u00a0fit so far as I prepare for a career as a counselor.<\/div>\n

Meet Dolce:<\/h4>\n
Hi! My name is Dolce, and I\u2019m a first-year student in Boston University\u2019s Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine program. I\u2019m originally from Sonoma County, California, and attended Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan for high school while pursuing a career as a ballerina.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Before beginning my journey towards clinical work, I danced professionally, an experience that shaped my interest in how identity, injury, and performance intersect with mental health. After retiring from ballet, I earned my B.A. in Psychology at UCLA, where I worked at the Semel Institute studying behavioral interventions for children with autism and served as a public speaker with NAMI Westside LA, expanding mental health awareness among local high school students. After graduating, I worked at UCSF as a clinical research coordinator, supporting studies focused on better understanding language-based learning differences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My current interests center on supporting athletes as they navigate identity, injury, and life transitions. In my free time, I also contribute to research on concussion recovery and access to specialty care. I strongly believe people need people, and I look forward to giving back to a community that has deeply shaped me.\u00a0<\/span>Post-grad, I plan to provide evidence-based, culturally responsive care rooted in connection and compassion.<\/p>\n

Outside of grad school, you can usually find me walking around Boston listening to a podcast, in the kitchen making something from scratch, or working on a puzzle!<\/p>\n

Hi! My name is Zoe, and I am a first-year student in BU\u2019s Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program. I was born and raised in Miami, FL, and I recently graduated from the University of Michigan, where I earned my B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Go BLUE!!<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always been passionate about connecting with people and supporting their wellbeing. I am deeply committed to the Special Olympics organization and to advocating for mental health in communities where it is often overlooked. I\u2019m especially interested in the intersection of sports and mental health, as well as working with children and young adults navigating key transitional periods in their lives. BU has already been incredible in giving me the foundation to become the strongest clinician I can be.<\/p>\n

For fun, I love walking around Boston (the Esplanade is my favorite), going to the movies, watching New England sports, catching up on reality TV, and spending time with my wonderful friends, many of whom I\u2019ve met through the program :)<\/p>\n
