They struggle to learn scientific techniques, design experiments, analyze results and accomplish\u00a0 an independent research project for the August 5 summer symposium .\u00a0 While not all\u00a0 projects will yield conclusive results in ten weeks of research everyone\u00a0 will have\u00a0 MADE a contribution they can call their own.<\/p>\n<p>Mentors, available to guide eager learners, are in the lab as principal investigators, managers, technicians,\u00a0 postdocs and Ph.D. students.\u00a0 While\u00a0 opportunities to network\u00a0 pop up informally at the picnic table or shuttle bus,\u00a0 weekly science talks and professional development workshops offer another way to make new science connections and friendships.\u00a0 As the week winds down\u00a0 rest and relaxation does arrive in all its forms &#8212;\u00a0 sightseeing , shopping, restaurants, concerts, sports, movies, and believe it or not wondering what discovery might be uncovered during the next experiment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leaving Charles River Campus early in the morning\u00a0 summer\u00a0 interns take the BU\u00a0 shuttle\u00a0 to the Medical Campus and their daily work at the laboratory bench.
