Dr. Sorin Ciobanu came to the United States from Romania in 1991 as a student in the Radiologic Technology program at Northeastern University in Boston. In Romania he attended and graduated from the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy in Tg. Mures. He continued his medical training with the completion of a 3-year internship program, after which he received his MD and license to practice medicine in Romania. He worked as an General Practitioner for two years and then started a Radiology residency program in Bucharest.

In the US, Sorin was originally employed by Boston Medical Center as a Radiologic Technologist. He is currently an MRI Technologist at BMC. He has taught several courses at Northeastern University (Radiologic Technology Physics, Radiologic Pathology and MRI Physics) and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (MCPHS University), formerly Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, (MRI Physics). Since 2016 he has been a faculty in the MBI program and Instructor of the Clinical Internship Course.
