Educator of the Year Award Nominations Due Feb 5

The nomination process for the Committee on Faculty Affairs’ Educator of the Year Awards is now open (and the timeline is short with a due date of Feb 5, 2019).  

The awards were established to recognize, honor and reward Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) faculty who give special effort to ensure the best education for GMS students. Awards are given annually to outstanding educators of: 

  1. Didactic teaching in graduate sciences in GMS master’s programs
  2. Mentorship/didactic teaching in graduate sciences in GMS doctoral programs

Nominations for the didactic teaching award in GMS master’s programs will be accepted from the directors, co-directors and advisors of the GMS master’s programs based on student recommendations, course evaluations, or other criteria established by the individual program. Nominations will also be solicited directly from masters students through the Graduate Medical Sciences Student Organization.

Nominations for the mentorship/didactic teaching award in GMS doctoral programs will be accepted from doctoral students in GMS. Student nominations will be coordinated by and submitted through the Biomedical PhD Student Organization. Nominations should be based on mentorship in the laboratory or advising, or excellence in didactic teaching.

The due date for nominations is Feb 5, 2019please do take the time to nominate a faculty member whose efforts as an educator stand out!
