New BUMC Public Safety Phone Number 617-358-4444
Public Safety services between Boston University and Boston Medical Center have been separating over the past several months. The final separation step is the call dispatch function. Effective at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the phone number to reach BU Medical Campus Public Safety services will be 617-358-4444. Boston Medical Center Public Safety will continue to use the existing number, 617-414-4444. Calls made from BU landlines should dial 8-4444.
I encourage you to program 617-358-4444 into your cell phone. If you inadvertently dial the BMC number from a cell phone, Boston Medical Center dispatch will immediately notify BU Public Safety of the emergency call. Routine calls will be transferred.
