Each block accommodates a maximum of 6 students.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cardiology<\/li>\n<li>Emergency Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Infectious Diseases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Procedures to Sign Up:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you are part of the BUSM class of 2015, and you are interested in undertaking\u00a0one of these electives for the 2014-15 academic year, e-mail\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:lovendal@bu.edu\">Patti\u00a0Gibbs\u00a0<\/a>with two choices of elective blocks and specialties by\u00a0<b>March\u00a021, 2014<\/b>. Final placements will be announced by <strong>March 28, 2014<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If there are more students interested in the electives than there are spaces\u00a0available, a random lottery for the spaces will be performed.<\/li>\n<li>Once spaces are confirmed by Patti Gibbs, electives will automatically be\u00a0added to students&#8217; 4th-year schedules via the Registrar&#8217;s Office. <strong>A\u00a0paper ADD\/DROP form from the registrar&#8217;s office\u00a0IS NOT NEEDED.<\/strong> Those students\u00a0who did not secure an elective placement will be put on a waiting list in\u00a0the event that a student drops the elective.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following fourth-year clinical electives are available at Roy Lester Schneider\u00a0Hospital (St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) for blocks 17, 18, 19 and 20 of the 2014-15 academic\u00a0year.
