Dr. Lisa Norton and Katherine Concilio, NP,\u00a0 announced their intention to retire by the end of May and June 2021, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa Norton, MD<\/strong>\u00a0retired at the end of May after 28 years with the Geriatrics Section.\u00a0 Dr. Norton has been a strong, steady member of the\u00a0Geriatrics Section since 1993, just after she finished her residency at Boston City Hospital (Boston City and BMC merged in 1996). Dr. Norton has served on many Boston University committees over the years and was the Director of the Geriatrics Clerkship from\u00a01999 to 2019. \u00a0The Section will miss her dedication and commitment\u00a0toward her patients, trainees and colleagues.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Katherine (Kathy) Concilio<\/strong> will be retiring by the end of June after 19 years with the Geriatrics Section. Kathy joined the Section as a Nurse Case Manager for home care in March 2002. She later\u00a0<\/span>transitioned to work as a Nurse Practitioner in our nursing home program in 2006. Over the years, Kathy has selflessly continued to assist in doing home visits, when additional help was needed.\u00a0\u00a0She also has been instrumental to our education team, where she was a preceptor to our medical students, served on the teamness committee and served on the Sections\u2019 Geriatric Grand Rounds planning committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We honored their years of service on June 4 with a luncheon with faculty and staff. We\u00a0<\/span>have been fortunate to have Dr. Norton and Kathy be a part of the Section and their dedication to caring for patients and teaching our trainees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
