Research Interests

My research is focused on understanding the causes of complex disease including dementia and stroke and the cerebral vascular impact on cognitive impairment, using analytic approaches in genetics and genomics. Through genome-wide association meta-analysis and sequencing data analysis, his work has identified genetic loci associated with Alzheimer’s disease and cerebral small vessel diseases. Currently, I am working on cross-phenotype meta-analysis for identifying novel genetic risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease using other related diseases. Recently, I have been interested in constructing genomic/genetic risk scores for Alzheimer’s disease and/or cerebral small vessel disease and to estimate its potential as a screening tool for primary prevention or risk prediction.
