Along with seminars focused on project and academic development, participants will receive peer, senior, and project mentoring and networking. <strong>2.5% FTE clinical effort forgiveness provided for BUMG faculty.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Directors<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.bu.edu\/Demian.Szyld\">Demian Szyld, MD, EdM<\/a><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">Applications are closed for FY27. Dates for FY28 will be announced in the fall.<\/h5>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><strong>Learning Objectives:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop skills to make substantial progress on an academic project and to effectively communicate project findings<\/li>\n<li>Understand and develop a plan for academic advancement in one\u2019s career path (e.g., clinician, educator, researcher,)<\/li>\n<li>Develop skills to identify, effectively grow, and work with a developmental network of peer and senior mentors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><strong>Target Participants<\/strong>:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>~20 BUMC Faculty: including clinicians (MDs, APPs, ODs, etc.), educators, and researchers from all 3 schools at BUMC<\/li>\n<li>Must be faculty on the BU Medical Campus for \u22651 year, this includes BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine, BU School of Public Health, &amp; BU Goldman School of Dental Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Must apply with an academic project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Commitment<\/strong>:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>10 sessions from October to May, Mondays from 2:30-5:00pm in person<\/li>\n<li>Meet with Career Mentor 3x throughout the year<\/li>\n<li>Meet with Project Mentor monthly throughout the year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>FY27 Dates:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>October 5th, 2026<\/li>\n<li>October 26th, 2026<\/li>\n<li>November 16th, 2026<\/li>\n<li>December 14th, 2026<\/li>\n<li>January 11th, 2027<\/li>\n<li>February 8th, 2027<\/li>\n<li>March 8th, 2027<\/li>\n<li>April 5th, 2027<\/li>\n<li>May 3rd, 2027<\/li>\n<li>May 24th, 2027<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Program Components<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Sessions<\/strong>. Expert speakers address areas of professional development to successfully navigate a career in academic medicine through in-person, interactive sessions for 2.5 hours each.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project<\/strong>. Participants specify an academic project that will contribute to their professional advancement and provide a timeline designed to facilitate achievement of significant milestones by the end of the nine-month program.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project\u00a0Mentor<\/strong>. An assigned content mentor from another department devotes one hour per month to\u00a0supporting the participant in achieving\u00a0progress on his\/her project.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peer Mentors<\/strong>. Participants meet\u00a0in learning communities\u00a0during each\u00a0in-person session to discuss applications of the curricular content to their work, and provide support and accountability to one another.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Career Mentor<\/strong>.
