Expanding your Funding Portfolio: Effectively Engaging Private Organizational Funders | October 12th, 2023<\/h5>

Federal funders such as NIH are an understandable focus for most faculty members. Yet private funding has increased dramatically in the last decade. Typically ranging from 6 to 7 figures, grants from foundations offer opportunities to conduct bold, riskier research; establish proof of concept; and pilot projects that lead to larger awards. This session, which is appropriate for faculty at all levels, will cover how to identify potential funders, connect with program officers and directors, and submit compelling, competitive LOIs and proposals that comply with BU\u2019s policies and procedures. The Felony in our Midst: The Relevance of the Massachusetts Wiretapping Law to Clinical Practice and Patient Safety | October 31st, 2023<\/h5>

The Massachusetts Wiretapping statute is one of the strictest wiretapping laws in the country. It was written in the 1960s when cellphones didn\u2019t exist, but it is still very much enforced today. We will discuss the details of the law, the difference between one-party and all-party consent, and how it is imperative that all clinicians know and understand the law and its relevance to daily practice.<\/p>\n
