He graduated from a family\u00a0 medicine residency program in Toronto, Canada where he was\u00a0 actively involved in advocacy and policy efforts to reverse cuts\u00a0 to refugee health care. In 2011 he co-founded a community health worker training program in Latin America for indigenous\u00a0rural inhabitants. Dr. Jefee-Bahloul graduated medical school from Tishreen University, Syria in\u00a02006 and moved to the U.S in 2009. Since he came to Yale,\u00a0Dr. Jefee-Bahloul finished psychosomatic medicine fellowship\u00a0training and currently is an addiction psychiatry fellow. She completed her Family\u00a0Medicine residency and her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology\u00a0in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her RAMS program research focus is on\u00a0evaluating group visits for substance use disorders in an integrated\u00a0health care setting. With this project, she hopes to provide clinically useful information for improving access to addiction treatment\u00a0across diverse ambulatory care clinics.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"\/care\/files\/2015\/06\/A_Manhapra.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"106\" height=\"133\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-8257\" alt=\"A_Manhapra\" src=\"\/care\/files\/2015\/06\/A_Manhapra.jpg\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAjay Manhapra, MD<br \/>\nAddiction Psychiatry<br \/>\nYale University<br \/>\nVA Connecticut Health System<\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uvahealth.com\/findadoctor\/profile\/ajay-manhapra\">Dr. Manhapra<\/a> is currently enrolled as a VA inter-professional\u00a0fellow in addiction medicine at Yale. He was a practicing internist for over a decade before this. He approaches addictive diseases\u00a0as a chronic disease. His research is focused on the interaction\u00a0of addictive diseases, especially prescription opioids, with multi- morbidities including psychiatric and medical co-morbidities, and\u00a0how it influences lives of people. Her research interests include the\u00a0health of urban underserved patients, especially in the areas of addiction and HIV.
