Dr. Gray is an\u00a0Instructor, Harvard Medical School, and\u00a0Associate Director of Addiction Medicine Fellowship at\u00a0Massachusetts General Hospital. She is an\u00a0Attending Physician, Substance Use Disorder Initiative and Bridge Clinic and\u00a0Clinical Director of the HOPE Clinic.<\/p>\n

Dr. Kerensky is an Instructor of Medicine at BUSM. He is the Medical Director of the Opioid Treatment Program at Spectrum Health Systems Inc, a provider in the Faster Paths Clinic<\/a> at BMC, and\u00a0an Attending on the inpatient Addiction Consult Service<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Trowbridge_Paul-2-5x3-5\"\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Paul Trowbridge, MD, MPH (2015-2016)<\/p>\n

Dr. Trowbridge is a physician at the SHMG Center for Integrative Medicine in Grand Rapids Michigan. His clinical interests include the treatment of complex patients, marginalized populations, addiction, international\/travel health and infectious diseases, including HIV and hepatitis C.<\/p>\n

\"zoe-weinstein\"\u00a0 Zoe Weinstein, MD, MSc<\/a> (2013-2015)<\/p>\n

Dr. Weinstein is an Assistant Professor in GIM at BUSM.\u00a0<\/span>Her research interests include the health of urban underserved patients, especially in the areas of addiction and HIV. Her current clinical work and research are focused on long-term Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) with buprenorphine, the integration of addiction treatment with primary care and inpatient medical care. She is currently the director of Boston Medical Center\u2019s Addiction Consult Service.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"Bagley\"<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Sarah Bagley<\/a>,<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>MD\u00a0(2012-2015)<\/p>\n

Dr. Bagley is an Assistant Professor in GIM at BUSM. H<\/span>er research interests are in the treatment of opioid use disorders in the adolescent and young adult population and the involvement of the family in addiction care. She sees patients in both General Internal Medicine and the Adolescent Center. She is the Medical Director of the CATALYST Clinic \u2013 a clinical program to provide integrated medical and behavioral health care for adolescents and young adults who use substances \u2013 and an Attending on the inpatient Addiction Consult Service.<\/p>\n

\"Bertholet<\/a>\u00a0 Nicolas Bertholet, MD<\/a>\u00a0(2006-2008)<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Bertholet is chef de clinique <\/em>in Prevention and Public Health and Psychiatry at the Alcohol Treatment Center, Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland. As a CARE Fellow, his research focused on brief interventions and behavior change among persons with unhealthy alcohol use. His research focuses on alcohol use, brief motivational interventions, the processes of change involved in addiction and the use of new technologies in the delivery of secondary prevention interventions. He is currently an Associate Editor of aodhealth.org.<\/p>\n

\"kertesz_stefan1\"<\/a>\u00a0 Stefan G. Kertesz, MD, MSc (2000-2002)<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Kertesz is an Assistant Professor at University of Alabama, Birmingham. As a CARE Fellow Dr. Kertesz developed and submitted a NIDA K23 career development proposal, which was subsequently funded to investigate drug abuse in homeless persons. He has subsequently received independent funding for drug abuse research from NIDA (R01) and the VA.<\/p>\n

\"kimt\"<\/a>\u00a0 Theresa W. Kim, MD <\/a>(2002-2004)<\/p>\n

Dr. Kim is an Assistant Professor in GIM at BUSM and Co-Investigator on an NIH grant and Associate Medical Director of the SAMHSA-funded Massachusetts Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (MASBIRT) Program. As a CARE Fellow Dr. Kim conducted research on the unique needs of HIV-infected homeless persons and primary care quality and addiction severity. During her fellowship she applied for and received an NIH Loan Repayment Program Award.<\/p>\n

\"Lunze\"<\/a>\u00a0 Karsten Lunze MD,\u00a0PhD, MPH<\/a>\u00a0(2010-2012)<\/p>\n

Dr. Lunze is n Assistant Professor in GIM at BUSM. He\u00a0<\/span>worked closely with CARE Unit faculty members on several projects.\u00a0\u00a0 He trained in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology at Charit\u00e9 Medical School in Berlin and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.\u00a0\u00a0His interests include newborn health, health behavior changes, and post-conflict health systems reconstruction.<\/p>\n

\"Christine<\/a> Christine Pace, MD<\/a> (2010 – 2012)<\/p>\n

Dr. Pace is the previous CARE fellow. She is an Assistant Professor in GIM at BUSM and she<\/span>\u00a0is interested in research that identifies ways to improve care for patients with substance abuse and alcohol use disorders in primary care and other medical settings.<\/p>\n

Cara Poland, MD (2012-2014)<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Poland is currently a physician at Spectrum Health\u2019s Center for Integrative Medicine. As an\u00a0Addiction Medicine Fellow, Dr. Poland focused on educating physicians and physicians-in-training to improve care for patients with substance abuse and alcohol disorders. She has an interest in educating physicians and physicians-in-training to improve care for patients with substance abuse and alcohol disorders.\u00a0 She is interested in medical student curriculum development and assessment, student well-being and identifying ways to improve the process of medical training.\u00a0 She sits on the Board of Directors for the Red Project and multiple leadership boards of various professional societies such as the Midwest Society of General Internal Medicine and American Society of Addiction Medicine.\u00a0 She<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a>\"Alex<\/a>\u00a0 Alexander Y. Walley, MD, MSc (2005-2007)<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Walley is an Associate Professor in GIM at BUSM and Medical Director of the Narcotic Addiction Clinic at Boston Public Health Commission. His fellowship research focused on predictors of mortality in HIV-infected persons with alcohol problems and risk behaviors among Russian heroin users. His program that facilitates access to substance abuse treatment and HIV prevention and care among high risk patients was awarded $1.3 million from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
