Boston University Medical Student Summer Research Program (BU MSSRP)

Boston University first year medical students may apply for summer funding by filling out a BU MSSRP application after being paired with a CARE Unit faculty mentor.

Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Summer Internship

Once paired with a CARE Unit faculty mentor, interested undergraduate students (from any institution) must forward their resume and a brief description of the project to cfar@lifespan.org 

Boston University Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)

Boston University undergraduate students may apply for summer funding by filling out a UROP application after being paired with a CARE Unit faculty mentor.

Summer Training as Research Scholars (STaRS) Program

The STaRs program is designed to promote more equitable access to graduate education for students historically underrepresented in science and medicine. They are is particularly interested in providing funding for the following groups:

  • Racial/Ethnic Minorities (American Indians and Alaska Natives, U.S.
  • Pacific Islanders, Hispanic/Latino Americans, and African Americans), which have a longstanding history of underrepresentation,
  • Students with disabilities (defined as those with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities),
  • and Students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds
