In addition, upon request, the Foundation will separately provide up to $1,500 for the selected faculty\u00a0member to travel to seminars and meetings related to their research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligible candidates are BU Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine faculty who are in the first 4 years of a faculty appointment and conduct laboratory or translational cancer research.\u00a0 Eligible faculty must work in CAMED space and awards must be managed through BU.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To apply, please submit the following materials<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chair\u2019s nomination letter (one-page maximum)<\/li>\n<li>Candidate\u2019s description of his\/her current research, including a description of how this award will help in building an independent research program (three-page maximum, not included reference citations)<\/li>\n<li>Candidate\u2019s full CV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications must be submitted as a single PDF file via the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/url.us.m.mimecastprotect.com\/s\/SFXXCxk594c1r8O6Vt8flUyn150?domain=bumc.bu.edu\/\">BU-BMC Cancer Center website\u00a0<\/a>no later than\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><u>Monday May 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST<\/u><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The funding period is June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. The recipient will be expected to meet in person with the Trustees of the Karin Grunebaum Cancer Research Foundation (in Boston) on June 12, 2026 and again in June of 2027 to give a brief presentation on their research.
