{"id":92566,"date":"2021-02-25T12:53:07","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T17:53:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/busm\/?p=92566"},"modified":"2021-02-25T12:53:29","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T17:53:29","slug":"faculty-position-open-for-ms-in-oral-health-science-program-in-gms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/camed\/2021\/02\/25\/faculty-position-open-for-ms-in-oral-health-science-program-in-gms\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Position Open for MS in Oral Health Science Program in GMS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Part-Time Faculty Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MS in Oral Health Sciences Program at Graduate Medical Sciences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/gms\/ohs\/\">MS in Oral Health Sciences (OHS) program<\/a>\u00a0seeks a faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank (up to 35% FTE) with a strong interest in graduate education and a background in mentoring and advising students.<\/p>\n<p>OHS is one of 34 different doctoral and master\u2019s programs in Graduate Medical Sciences on the Medical Campus. It is a one-year pipeline program designed to increase the number of applicants from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups into the dental profession.\u00a0 The rigorous one-year program, developed in collaboration with BU\u2019s Goldman School of Dental Medicine, provides students the opportunity to improve their academic credentials for dental school admission. The ideal candidate would have a commitment to graduate education, teaching, and working in an inclusive environment that celebrates and welcomes diversity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mentor and advise students, provide dental application support, assist with enrichment, professional development and academic skills programming<\/li>\n<li>Assist with oversight of some academic components of the program (i.e. registration, assessments, and capstone\/thesis projects)<\/li>\n<li>Teach one course (with the opportunity to develop additional elective courses)<\/li>\n<li>Be an active member of the Admissions Committee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in a science or health related field, and graduate teaching\/advising experience (remote and\/or in-person)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please sent a cover letter, CV, list of teaching and advising experiences and the names, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of three references to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ohs@bu.edu\">ohs@bu.edu<\/a>.
