She joined the BUSM community in 2003 as a post-doctoral research scientist.<\/p>\n<p>Her nominators say: \u201cDr. Jayaraman, who herself is a person of color, helped train two URM scientists in the Gursky laboratory. She has played a major role in supervising and planning their research for two to three years and she was the major driving force behind the peer-reviewed publications that these URM trainees have co-authored.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cDr. Jayaraman is not only a brilliant scientist, she also is compassionate and very generous.
