""The Dean’s Office is pleased to announce that Patty Jones has been named Distinguished Staff of the Month for September.

Ms. Jones is the administrator and financial manager for five professional master’s programs in the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology. She supports the program directors and faculty; coordinates and assists with admissions, budgets, graduation, recruitment and all administrative tasks. She also interacts with students, providing them with assistance for registration, teaching assistantships and acquiring supplies and resources for their thesis research.

The nomination states, “Patty frequently volunteers for ad hoc committees. Most recently she was a member of the committee to coordinate and organize the “virtual graduation” for the Masters students in May 2020. She was passionate about joining this committee as she was determined to provide a graduation celebration for our students.”

Another nominator said, “Patty strives to get to know all of the students in the MS programs and works very hard to create an open and welcoming environment for all students.”

Yet another said, “Patty is the ultimate professional in all aspects of her job. She is often the first person that prospective students interact with at the University and she always greets them warmly and supports them through the application process. She demonstrates tremendous patience, in some trying situations and interactions. She truly cares about the programs, faculty and students.”

“Patty is a highly valued member of our department and we would be lost without her.”
