She was named Director in 2010, continued in that capacity for the School when BUSM and BMC established separate offices in 2014, and appointed Assistant Dean for Communications in August 2017. Maria is responsible for the School\u2019s communications activities, including internal and external communications, issues management, crisis communications, media relations and social media. She also serves as the spokesperson for the School.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to BU, Maria held positions spanning the fields of sports journalism, health care and higher education communications.
