This award was established in 1998, in memory of Shih-Chun Wang, to recognize an individual demonstrating outstanding promise in the field of central nervous system physiology. In addition, the award includes $4000 for use in support of Wainford\u2019s research.   This award will be presented at the American Physiological Society Annual Business Meeting on April 23 in Boston.<\/p>\n<p>Wainford is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology &amp; Experimental Therapeutics and Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and a member of The Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute.
