To recognize his contributions, we have planned a two-part celebration event in Hiebert Lounge on Monday, April 23.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border: none; width: 650px;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/camed\/files\/2018\/03\/TomMooreevent_circles.jpg\" alt=\"COM_appel chobanian\" width=\"95\" height=\"164\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-56403\" \/><\/td>\n<td><strong>3-4 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopkinsmedicine.org\/profiles\/results\/directory\/profile\/0001071\/lawrence-appel\">Dr. Larry Appel<\/a><\/strong> from Johns Hopkins and our own Dr. Aram Chobanian, BU President Emeritus and BUSM Dean Emeritus, will discuss the new high blood pressure guidelines and the 40 million additional Americans who now meet the new definition of hypertension. Dr. Appel will focus on the importance of the eating patterns that have been shown to lower blood pressure. (Drs.
