Jacquet, MD, MPH, FACEP, assistant professor of emergency medicine, has been named medical director of Child\u00a0Family Health International\u00a0(CFHI), a non-profit organization providing more than 30\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mail.bmc.org\/owa\/redir.aspx?SURL=5Bb_pdnzBoeizx0jbbCH-JzlE3hlX4zZ4ENHTH1NZS2cqQBhwF_TCGgAdAB0AHAAcwA6AC8ALwB3AHcAdwAuAGMAZgBoAGkALgBvAHIAZwAvAGEAbABsAC0AcAByAG8AZwByAGEAbQBzAA..&amp;URL=https%3a%2f%2fwww.cfhi.org%2fall-programs\">Global Health Education Programs<\/a>\u00a0in 10 countries. Jacquet, an attending physician and director of Global Health in Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center (BMC), and assistant director of global health programs at BUSM, will assist with pre-departure training and research as well as curriculum development.<\/p>\n<p>Jacquet\u2019s background includes extensive work in medical education, strengthening emergency care in resource-limited settings and global health research. She is the\u00a0managing editor of the department\u2019s Public &amp; Global Health Annual Newsletter (to be published in summer 2016).\u00a0Most recently, Jacquet\u00a0has focused her time on founding and serving as course director for the newly released\u00a0Practitioner\u2019s Guide to Global Health, a series of open-access, interactive courses available at\u00a0edX.org.<\/p>\n<p>Jacquet received her medical degree from the University of Vermont and holds a master\u2019s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Denver Health Medical Center and fellowship training in International Emergency Medicine and Public Health at Johns Hopkins.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1992, CFHI (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prweb.net\/Redirect.aspx?id=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5jZmhpLm9yZw==\">http:\/\/www.cfhi.org<\/a>) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides global health education experiences and community empowerment in<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>underserved<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>communities around the world.\u00a0 More than 30 programs broaden students&#8217; perspectives about global health and more than 8,000 students have participated in CFHI programs to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gabrielle A.
