Established in 2000 to acknowledge health-care providers who excel in the area of diagnosis, treatment and management, the award recognizes an outstanding clinic or individual on the basis of contributions to research, clinical practice standards and education in the field of incontinence. Chai also is chief of Urology at Boston Medical Center.<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were thrilled to honor Dr. Chai for his outstanding leadership in the field of urology. He was more than deserving of this honor and we are grateful for the advances he has made and continues to make to help the over 80 million people impacted by bowel and bladder disorders.\u00a0We hear every day from patients about the struggles they endure to find great care and live quality lives. Dr. Chai\u2019s commitment to these patients and to training of colleagues is an incredible asset to the field,\u201d\u00a0said Steven G. Gregg,\u00a0PhD, executive director for NAFC.\u00a0\u201cWe look forward to seeing his continued contributions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chai completed his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, his urology residency at University of Michigan Medical Center, and a fellowship at University of Virginia. He has published 160 papers, reviews and medical texts, and serves on the editorial board of the<em>\u00a0American Journal of Physiology \u2013 Renal<\/em>\u00a0and as an associate editor for\u00a0<em>Journal of Urology<\/em>. He has received numerous honors, including the 2013 American Urological Association (AUA) Victor A.
